Project Status

A planning application for Burton Top Solar was submitted in November 2022 and was approved by the local planning authority in April 2024. With land rights secured, a grid connection accepted, and a planning application approved, ASE are currently discharging planning conditions before constructing Burton Top Solar.

Once constructed, the export capacity of 10 MWp will generate enough power to support 3,000 homes per year, whilst saving approximately 4,300 tonnes of CO₂ each year, throughout the site’s 40 year lifecycle.
The project also includes a co-located 8MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
